VMK for vocoder and reavoice

MessageAuthor

Hi, I have no MIDI keyboard at home. So, i use my desktop keyboard to play virtual midi keyboard which comes with reaper. The problem is, i found no tutorial regarding how to use VMK in reavoice or reavocode. Mr. Kenny used piano one vst in one of his videos. but why should i need piano one, as reaper has its own VMK?

If ReaVocode works as any normal vocoder, one of the inputs should be some sort of an instrument, so I guess virtual midi keyboard needs to control some (any, can be ReaSynth) instrument first, which you route into a carrier input of the vocoder.

Yes...basically the vocoder expects an audio input and vmk is midi only.

Thanks. Can anyone elaborate about reavoice effect? How to use it without external midi keyboard?

Reavoice will work with vmk just like with external keyboard.. follow this vid but use vmk as input to to the midi track. Once you work out what keys you want by playing on the vmk draw them into midi editor.
