Audio post with PT LE?

Hi all, I appreciate that PTHD is the system to have for serious Post prod work (Sound to pic) but what kind of work can be done on a basic LE system. When is the DV Toolkit critical to own Also specifically when you import a QT vid, is it correct that only 1 video is allowed per session? This is a heavy restriction. If I try to import a second video it says you must lose the existing one. thanks

I mix TV shows in LE with DV toolkit all the time (although of course I prefer HD), so yes it's totally possible. You can add as many QTs as you want so I'm not sure where you came up with that. DV toolkit is critical when you need to import OMFs and you need to be able to work to timecode in the timeline. I think that's pretty much it.

Hmm... not sure if it's a Windows limitation? Presumeably it uses the QT engine for playback. Unless of course I am importing a video with a different frame rate and thats why I get the 1 video only, can anyone confirm? thanks

1 video only is a limitation of "naked" LE, AFAIK. f.

Confirmed. All QT vids must be the same frame rate. But why would you want to import videos of differing frame rates into the same session?

Well no reason other than a diff FR could be imported by accident, that's why I wondered if it causes a problem and it must unload the previous QT file first, but as confirmed LE without DV Toolkit has but 1 video allowed same FR or not. Thanks for confirming. Are there any other video related post production limitations other than no TC in timeline? LE seems fairly Crippled unless you spend on the toolkit. cheers
