upgrade path from 5.3 to 6.4 digi001

OK I am a bit behind. I have the newest apple system 10.3.8 ready to install. I currently have ptle 5.3.1 ? on os9 with a 001 Which upgrades do I need to purchase? Do I need to buy the 6.1 first, then pay for 6.4 then free 6.4cs6 then free 6.4cs9 then the plug in updaters to be at the top of the 001 end of the line? I read the compatibillity docs and the download docs but I'm still confused.

You don't need anything other than the 6.4 CD. I highly recommend that you remove your present system drive and do all your updates on a new drive. This way, when you have a problem, you can re-install the old drive and be right back where you are now-with a working system. Just a suggestion.

OK , but is the 6.4 cd the upgrade for $35 or a different cd all together? The new drive is also ready to go. Thanks,
