is there a way to do this? I just want to use vst and not have 2 instances of every plugin. if it's not possible: dear cockos, could you please make a simple little checkbox in preferences somewhere that says "don't use AU plugins" - it could go right after the "VST/AU bridging/firewalling:" setting.
Reaper auto scans the AU plug directory too though, it's not something you specify, it just happens. Anyways, I would just go and delete the AU plugins that are duplicates of the VSTs... Or don't install the AU version in the first place if the installer gives you the option. They are located here: Macintosh HD\Library\Audio\Plugins\Components
If there's a way to know that a same plugin exist both as VST and AU, a checkbox could be made to give priority to the VST or to the AU version of the plugin. Another option could be just to add a "Hide" option in the context menu of the "Add Fx" window. That, with a checkbox or folder where you can actually see the plugs and "unhide" them.
yeah I just don't think this would be too much to ask... I mean how much coding has to go into "don't look at that folder" ??? studio one can do it....
